The objective of the workshop is an exchange of practices between the participants. Participation is open to patent examiners only.
This e-learning course is intended for examiners of national industrial property offices who are already familiar with SEARCH and comprises a self-paced preparation followed by 8 virtual classrooms.
This workshop addresses the formal aspects of the procedures before the EPO, with a focus on the main steps of the procedure under the EPC, an introduction into the Unitary Patent system, and specific points of procedure under the EPC and under the PCT
The objective of the workshop is an exchange of practices between the participants. Participation is open to staff of national patent offices involved or interested in the formal aspects of the procedures before the EPO and the interface between the EPO and the national offices.
Practice is the key to your preparations for Paper D of the EQE, so the Academy is offering you the chance to hone your legal skills by tackling a daily question on the paper. The questions will be posted weekly, for a 12-week period running from 25 September to 15 December. There will be a dedicated forum for each question where you can post your answers. A European Patent Attorney comments on the questions (and your answers) every Friday.
This high-impact tutored programme comprises three modules on amendments that build on each other to take participants from entry to intermediate level. At the end of the programme, participants should be able to process files autonomously under the supervision of an experienced colleague. This seminar is for patent examiners of national patent offices.
Participants are invited to register with an online course room that gives access to self-learning resources on structured searches. Approximately one month after the course room opens, two two-hour online sessions are offered, for answering questions from participants and illustrating the main concepts with examples. The course is concluded with an online test.
Although relatively rare, taking evidence (Article 117 EPC) can be fundamental for proceedings before the EPO. It can take different forms, ranging from hearing witnesses to inspecting products. EPO lawyers with many years’ experience in this procedural aspect will guide participants through the various steps needed to take evidence properly.
The fee of EUR 320,- covers the participation in the course.
This blended e-learning course addresses the preparation for the EQE pre-examination. The online training material contains in-depth articles, case studies, quizzes to test your knowledge and previous examinations. Experienced epi tutors support you in a discussion forum as well as in live virtual classroom sessions.
The fee of EUR 350,- covers the participation in the course.
The course covers the basic tools and strategies needed for IP management, with a focus on value-based IP creation and extraction. Participants will learnfive generic IP strategies and how to develop a 360° IP strategy aligned with a company's business model. The course includes case study examples where participants are challenged to define IP objectives.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the main categories of intellectual property (IP) rights, their primary features and how to apply these rights. The emphasis is on patents and on the “what”, “when” and “how” of protecting inventions.
